VBI Hiring Field Archaeologists!
VBI is seeking Field Archaeologists for project-to-project work in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Fieldwork will include Phase I cultural resources surveys and Phase II testing projects, as well as potential laboratory duties and report assistance.
Salary
$19 - $22 an hour, with benefits
Duties
Conduct archaeological survey, monitoring, and excavation (Phase I, II, and III).
Use electronic and traditional navigational equipment (GPS, tablet/ArcCollector, compass, and transit).
Photo-document features, excavation units, landscapes, historic structures, archaeological sites, and work in progress.
Record accurate, organized, and clear project documentation.
Complete project tasks as directed by Field Director.
Travel to and from work areas throughout New England and New York.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field
Completed an accredited archaeological field school
Experience performing archaeological survey and excavation
Ability to work in diverse terrain that will involves hiking to and from project areas
Ability to work well with others and be a proactive part of a project team
A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
